S. Korean Authorities Condemned for Suppression of Naval Base Construction Protesters

| Pyongyang, March 20 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Measure Committee for Checking the Jeju Naval Base Construction on March 15 issued a statement condemning the fascist suppression of protesters against the base construction by the "government" authorities. The statement accused the "government" and military authorities of having indiscriminately arrested and walked away protesters in recent days. They took actions even against foreign peace activists who voiced solidarity with the protesters, it charged. The recent outrages revealed the suppression and human rights abuses by the authorities in the eyes of the world, it said, adding: The authorities would be well advised to know that they could never put down the mounting spirit against the base construction. |
