People Take to Streets to Protest in U.S., Canada

| Pyongyang, March 21 (KCNA) -- "Occupy Wall Street" protesters marched through lower Manhattan in New York City on Saturday to mark the six-month anniversary of the birth of the Occupy movement, a media report said. More than 200 protesters gathered at Zuccotti Park and marched down lower Manhattan. During the march, some protesters were taken away in handcuffs for clashing with the police. In Canada, Montreal's annual march against police brutality on March 15 led to stone-throwing, tear gas clouds and more than 100 arrests, police said. About 2 000 mostly young people took part in the Thursday night march. |
