On display in the venue were photos showing the undying feats President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il performed for national reunification and the movement of overseas compatriots, and photos showing the development of Songun Korea.

Present there on invitation were officials of the association, compatriots, charge d'affaires ad interim and staff members of the DPRK embassy.

Chairman Ju Yong Il of the association made a speech.

With the approach of the 100th birth anniversary of the President, he ardently yearns for Kim Il Sung's image of the sun and recalls with emotion immortal exploits he performed on behalf of the country and nation, Ju said, and went on:

Kim Il Sung, father of socialist Korea, saved the country and its people from the Japanese imperialist colonial rule and glorified the dignity of the nation.

The President, possessed of boundlessly noble popular traits, found himself among the people all his life and devoted his all to their happiness and the prosperity of all generations to come.

Leader Kim Jong Il carried forward the idea of the President and defended the country with the Songun politics and fully demonstrated its might.

As the dear respected Kim Jong Un is brilliantly carrying forward the Juche cause of revolution, the future of the country is bright and the cause of building a thriving nation and national reunification will be creditably accomplished, he said.
