The book summarizes the shining revolutionary life and immortal feats of the President. The book was published in August 1969, in March 1981 and in March 2000.

The latest edition divides the history of his revolutionary activities into 12 stages. The book said:

The President was born into a revolutionary and patriotic family. After embarking on the road of the revolution in his early years, he founded the Juche idea, Songun idea and indicated the path of the Korean revolution. He founded the anti-Japanese people's guerrilla army, the revolutionary armed forces on April 25, 1932 and annihilated the Japanese imperialist gangsters, liberating the country.

After the country's liberation, he achieved the historic cause of the party founding and developed the Korean People's Revolutionary Army into the Korean People's Army, the regular revolutionary armed forces. He also successfully solved the problem of the power our own way and founded the DPRK.

In the period of the Fatherland Liberation War, he aroused all the servicepersons and people to defeat U.S. imperialism and achieved the shining victory in the war. He held the posts of chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the DPRK Military Commission, primer of the DPRK Cabinet and supreme commander of the KPA during the war.

In the postwar period he led the Koreans to rehabilitate the economy and turned the DPRK into the industrial-agricultural socialist state under the banner of self-reliance.

In the subsequent period, he made sure that the historic task of the industrialization was successfully carried out in a short span of 14 years by effecting a great revolutionary surge, thus turning the DPRK into a powerful industrial socialist state.

He entrusted leader Kim Jong Il with the work of the army late in the 1960s and thoroughly established his command system in the army and successfully solved the problem of carrying forward the revolutionary cause of Juche.

He saw to it that the achievements of the industrialization were consolidated and the material and technical foundations of socialism were cemented to vigorously conduct the three revolutions --ideological, technological and cultural. He also set it forth as the general objective of the Korean revolution to model the whole society on the Juche idea at the Sixth Congress of the WPK, bringing about a decisive turn in the struggle for implementing it.

He energetically led the revolution and construction without a moment's rest and passed away in his office. He devoted all his efforts to the prosperity of the socialist country and its reunification and the cause of global independence till the last moments of his life, the book concluded.
