All-people Resistance for National Liberation Pyongyang, March 22 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung led the all-people resistance for liberating the country. In the early days of the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle he laid down the line of all-people resistance. The main idea of this line was that the only way for liberating the country from the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule was for all Koreans to turn out in an armed struggle against the aggressors. After the outbreak of the Sino-Japanese war in July Juche 26 (1937) Kim Il Sung took more active steps to carry the line of all-people resistance into practice. In September that year he issued an "Appeal to all Koreans" to give the Korean people a correct understanding of correlations between the Sino-Japanese war and the Koran revolution and encourage them to intensify their anti-Japanese struggle. He also guided the work to build resistance organizations throughout the country while awakening and rallying the masses of people in an organized way. During the anti-Japanese armed struggle he organized military and political training and short courses frequently to prepare the members of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA) to successfully guide the coming all-people resistance. He also paid special attention to keeping all-people resistance organizations unified in action. In the late 1930s district party committees were formed to play the role as a regional leading body, with its mission to realize the unified guidance over the party groups and anti-Japanese mass organizations in various areas. Kim Il Sung pushed ahead with the work to train those resistance organizations militarily. After the announcement of the September appeal, he saw to it that the paramilitary groups and workers' shock brigades in different areas could go through military training for armed actions. In the first half of the 1940s he made effort to wind up such military preparedness. He also worked to establish secret guerrilla bases for KPRA units' activities and all-people resistance forces in mountains of the country. On August 9, 1945 an order of final attack was issued for the liberation of the country, and the ruling system of Japan in Korea came to collapse in a moment. This was ascribable to KPRA's general attack and activities of many resistance organizations conducted under Kim Il Sung's strategic plan. The Japanese imperialists suffered deathblow by KPRA's powerful attack and the armed resistance of all Korean people, and surrendered at discretion on August 15, 1945. Thanks to Kim Il Sung's idea of achieving the independence of the country by the Korean people themselves and his wise leadership, the Korean people at last put an end to the atrocious colonial rule of 40 odd years by the Japanese imperialists and achieved the liberation of the country. The victory in the national liberation movement was the fruition of Kim Il Sung's absolute trust in his people's strength. |
