Recalling that Kim Jong Il had a more than half a century-long political career, the paper referred to the fact that his brilliant history of revolutionary leadership started since he began his Songun revolutionary leadership in August of 1960.

The paper continued:

Leader Kim Jong Il had pursued the most successful policies.

He had led the Korean people for more than half a century, successfully pursing his policies, without even a single failure, frustration and deviation. This would have been unthinkable without his political philosophy.

His political philosophy is the Juche idea recognized by the international community as a guiding idea for the cause of independence.

Holding aloft the banner of Songun, he formulated the Songun politics as a basic political mode under socialism despite the turmoil at the end of the 20th century in which the imperialists' high-handed and arbitrary practices were rampant.

It was thanks to the Songun politics that the country's military capability was bolstered in every way, making it possible to prevent a war in the Korean Peninsula, a big hotspot, and ensure peace and stability in Northeast Asia and the rest of our planet.
