Today Korea has been exposed to the danger of war in which the peace of the country and the destiny of the nation have been seriously threatened.

The south Korean military warmongers are staging joint military exercises for aggression after introducing huge armed forces from outsiders despite unanimous denunciation of the Koreans.

At the same time, they have been engrossed in all kinds of anti-DPRK psychological campaign and military provocations that rattle the nerve of the fellow countrymen in the areas along the heavily armed Military Demarcation Line at a time when an accidental gun report may lead to an all-out war.

This is a dangerous warlike action aimed to screw up the military tension between the north and the south and ignite a war at any cost in this land.

The north and south and overseas headquarters of Pomminryon strongly condemn in the name of all Koreans the war-confrontation moves of the conservative authorities of south Korea as a blatant challenge to the aspiration and wishes of all Koreans for peace and independent reunification of the country, and a reckless provocation to light the fuse of war against the north by escalating the tension to the extremes.

We cannot remain an onlooker to two-month-odd long war drills the warmongers are staging in the sky, land and seas of south Korea with the mobilization of troops and latest war equipment huge enough to fight a war.

The south side authorities seek to give rise to a military clash between the north and the south during the war drills and start an actual war under that pretext. They are now trying to find a way out of their worst ruling crisis, caused by their sycophancy toward the U.S., confrontation with fellow countrymen and unpopular rule, in provoking a war.

A war is becoming more feasible.

Unless all Koreans clear off the heavy clouds of war hanging over the land of Korea by their own efforts, the Korean nation will suffer horrible nuclear holocaust more disastrous than that in the 1950s.

For the present, it will decisively check the reckless war exercises south Korea is staging with outside forces defying the unanimous denunciation of all Koreans, and launch massive struggle to curb all hostile acts that may escalate military tension and bring a war.
