KCNA Commentary Snubs Anti-DPRK "Resolution"
|
|
Pyongyang, March 28 (KCNA) -- Forces hostile to the DPRK adopted a "resolution" against it at the 19th session of the UN Human Rights Council. The "resolution" pressurized the DPRK to recognize "the special rapporteur" and "cooperate" with him in his field survey, asserting that it expressed "serious concern over the human rights situation in the north" as in the past. The DPRK strongly refutes the "resolution" as a product of political plot to tarnish the image of the DPRK in the international arena and an unpardonable infringement upon the sovereign state. The most wanton human rights abuse finds its manifestation in such infringement upon state sovereignty as interfering in the internal affairs of other countries or occupying them by force of arms. The worst human rights abuser is the country which hatches such plots and those countries subservient to it. It is preposterous to talk about someone's "human rights" disregarding their own serious human rights issues. This behavior amounts to the height of selectivity and double standards. Great irony is that Japan, a political pigmy, worked hard to have an anti-DPRK "resolution" adopted every year as an ill-famed shock brigade. Japan is a war criminal state already bereft of moral and legal rights to talk about "human rights" in the DPRK. Japan forcibly took away at least 8.4 million Koreans and mercilessly killed more than a million of them. Moreover, it perpetrated such most hideous human rights abuses in human history as forcing 200 000 Korean women into sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army last century. Terrorism against Koreans in Japan, overseas citizens of a sovereign state, and the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan, their legitimate organization, to say nothing of kidnapping and human traffic, are daily occurrences in Japan. This is the reality of Japan. It is preposterous and impudent for Japan to utter this or that about someone's "human rights" and behave ridiculously in the international arena. Japan works hard to deliberately hype the DPRK's "human rights issue" under the pretext of "abduction issue" in the international arena. Lurking behind this is a foolish intention to paint the "abduction issue" as the core issue of the DPRK-Japan relations and craftily evade the settlement of its past crimes. Japan's trumpeting about "human rights" is nothing but a smokescreen to cover up its inglorious past and present human rights abuses. No matter how hard the Japanese authorities may try to hide the crimes it committed against the Korean people while peddling the "abduction issue", the Korean people will force them to pay a thousand-fold dearer price for all their past wrongdoings. It is no more than a daydream for the forces hostile to the DPRK including Japan to do harm to the DPRK's state sovereignty through conspiracy and pressure. The Korean people will more dynamically advance to defend the socialist system dearer than their own lives, holding higher the banner of Songun. |
