The DPRK's preparations to launch the earth observation satellite Kwangmyongsong-3 manufactured by its own efforts and with its indigenous technology have entered the stage of action, the statement noted, adding the DPRK's satellite launch is an exercise of an independent and legitimate right in line with the universally accepted international laws on the peaceful use of space.

In order to ensure transparency in the satellite launch, the DPRK plans to open it to experienced experts on space science and technology and journalists of the world, it noted, and went on:

This being a hard reality, the U.S. and its allies are taking issue with the matter pertaining to the DPRK sovereignty. It is unpardonable double standards for them to insist that the DPRK is not allowed to launch a satellite and it is illegal for it to do so, while launching satellites as commonplace events.

If the U.S. seeks to bar a sovereign state from exercising its independent and legitimate right, it will meet with a strong counteraction, it warned.

The association will firmly support the just stand of the DPRK, it concluded.
