Lee Myung Bak Group Accused of Suppressing Progressive Forces

Pyongyang, March 31 (KCNA) -- The Lee Myung Bak group of traitors is busy floating a ridiculous story about "the north wind" in an effort to turn the situation before the election favorable to it and thus prolong its remaining days. The group is again touting the trite "theory of coloring," labeling the progressive forces calling for independence, democracy, improved north-south relations and reunification "pro-north left-wing forces" and "followers of the north". It is, at the same time, fabricating "spy-ring cases" one after another in a bid to intensify the crackdown on them. The Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea in its information bulletin No. 994 on Saturday notes that these actions of the group are nothing but the last-ditch efforts of those on the verge of ruin, completely forsaken by the people for its sycophancy towards the U.S., unpopular rule and policy of confrontation with the DPRK. It goes on: The group's acts are also indicative of their sinister intentions to calm down the strong "call for punishing the government," the main slogan put up by the forces advocating democratic reforms and the people in the run-up to the general election. They are also aimed at diverting elsewhere the people's mind-set and the public attention and prolonging the regime of pro-U.S. elements and quislings by rallying ultra-right conservative forces. The group's noisier trumpeting about "the north wind" and "theory of coloring," the trite methods it employed whenever elections drew on, would only bring to light its true colors as a group of traitors and anti-reunification maniacs hell-bent on confrontation with fellow countrymen and precipitate its miserable end. |
