It will be co-sponsored by the international preparatory committee and the DPRK preparatory committee for commemorating the centenary of the birth of Kim Il Sung.

During the festival colorful events will be held. Among them are visit to the President's old home at Mangyongdae and planting of trees there, visit to the old home of leader Kim Jong Il in the Paektusan secret camp, an international joint meeting for commemorating the centenary of the birth of the President, an exhibition of books on the greatness of the three commanders of Mt. Paektu and literary works revering them and an awarding ceremony of an international prize contest of literary works.

It will bring together hundreds of foreign delegates including representatives of the international preparatory committee, regional and different national preparatory committees, those who had the honor of being received by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and their descendants, world famous personages, members of organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people and international bodies.
