Koreans in Uzbekistan Commemorate Kim Il Sung's Birth Anniversary

Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- A Korean art festival took place in Tashkent on Mar. 26 in the run-up to the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung. Present there were officials of the organizations of Koreans in Uzbekistan, Korean residents, members of more than 20 Korean art organizations, the charge d'affaires ad interim of the DPRK in Uzbekistan and staff members of the DPRK embassy. Ju Yong Il, chairman of the Elders Association for Korean Cultural Tradition, in his speech said that the festival this year is more significant as it is under way to commemorate the centenary of the birth of the President. The revolutionary cause of the President has made triumphant advance thanks to leader Kim Jong Il, he noted. Rosy is the future of the DPRK as long as it is under the leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un, identical to Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, he added. He called on compatriots to advance more dynamically to achieve national reunification, the life-long desire of the peerlessly great persons. Put on the stage were chorus "Song of General Kim Il Sung", the immortal revolutionary hymn, "Where Are You, Dear General?" a famous masterpiece, and other songs and dances. |
