The number of people who are left without shelter and suffering from acute shortage of food and water, denied healthcare and opportunity of learning and jobs is daily increasing whereas wealth on the earth is being wasted through weapon production and ceaseless wars, he noted.

Saying the Cuban people have never yielded to more than 50 years of U.S. blockade, he stressed: "Cuba has fought against the empire in the past and will do so in the future. This is our small feat and a modest contribution."
