Azerbaijan Denies Granting Israel Access to Air Bases

| Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry Thursday denied claims in a U.S. magazine report that it granted Israel access to air bases on the border it shares with Iran, in the event of a future attack on Iran. "This information is absurd and groundless," ministry spokesman Teymur Abdullayev was quoted by media as saying. Ali Hasanov, a senior official at Azerbaijan's presidential administration, said Thursday such speculation was "aimed at damaging relations between Azerbaijan and Iran." Azerbaijan's territory will never be used for any actions against Iran, he noted. |
