China Condemns Japan's Distortion of Textbooks

Pyongyang, April 1 (KCNA) -- Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei in a press conference on March 29 censured Japan's textbook distortion. The results of an examination of Japanese textbooks made public on March 27 made it clear that Diaoyu island is marked as Japan's "inviolable territory" in all geography textbooks, he noted, and continued: Diaoyu island and islets attached to it are part of the inviolable territory of China from the olden times. Any attempt to falsify this fact will prove to be futile, he held. Recalling that many history textbooks of Japan deny the Nanjing massacre, he said the Nanjing massacre has clear evidence as it was a monstrous crime perpetrated by the Japanese militarists during its invasion of China. He urged Japan to properly deal with the historical matter and reasonably handle it. |
