Pyongyang, April 4 (KCNA) -- In the 1970s, the situation urgently called for expounding in an overall way the profound principles and contents of the Juche idea and developing it in depth.

In order to press ahead with socialist construction in Korea, it was needed to imbue all members of society with the Juche idea and transform all realms of society as required by this idea.

And, the world's Juche idea followers were visiting the DPRK to learn more about the idea.

Under this situation President Kim Il Sung made public celebrated works one after another to further enrich the Juche idea. The works included "On the Present Political and Economic Policies of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Some International Problems", answers to questions raised by newsmen of the Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun in January Juche 61 (1972), "On Some Problems of Our Party's Juche Idea and the Government of the Republic's Internal and External Policies", answers to questions raised by journalists of the Japanese newspaper Mainichi Shimbun in September 1972 and "On the Occasion of the 30th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Workers' Party of Korea".

In the works he gave in-depth and scientific exposition of the essence of the Juche idea and expounded on a scientific basis the philosophical principles and socio-historical principles of the idea.

In a nutshell, the Juche idea clarifies that the masters of the revolution and construction are the popular masses and that they are also the motive force of the revolution and construction. In other words, one is responsible for one's own destiny and one has also the capacity for hewing out one's own destiny.

He also defined it as the principles for embodying the Juche idea in the revolution and construction to establish Juche in ideology, independence in politics, self-support in the economy and self-reliance in defence.

In this way he enriched the Juche idea and developed it into an integrated system, thus making it serve as the greatest idea in the human history of thought and as the most scientific guiding idea for the revolution and construction.
