|
|
Pyongyang, April 5 (KCNA) -- More and more women in Pyongyang choose Korean costumes to wear in spring. In this regard, KCNA met Pak Hyon Sik, secretary of the Korean Apparel Association, and Kim Jong Hui, chief of Korean Dress Tailor's Shop in Pothongmun Street. Question: I think the variety of dresses women put on in spring has become diverse. Can you tell me about women's dress tailor's shops and their manufacturing capacity? Pak: New diverse models of traditional costumes have been manufactured to enjoy popularity among women. The manufacturing capacity of the tailor's shops has been increased on a modern basis. Training courses for tailors are operational on a regular basis. Korean dress exhibitions are held annually, greatly contributing to developing dress manufacturing technologies. Question: I think chima (skirt) and jogori (coat) are so suitable to Korean women. Kim: In Korea, women favor chima and jogori more than any other costumes. Women look better in Korean dresses in light pink, yellow green and light purple colors. Girls look neater in pleated skirt. Now the Korean women consider wearing traditional costumes of various models and colors to be a pride. |
