The meeting was themed "The great leader is our eternal father." Hyon Sang Ju, chairman of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea, spoke at the meeting.

With the centenary of the birth of the President approaching, all the workers and trade union members feel irrepressible yearning for him, Hyon said.

He referred to the immortal exploits of the President, who formed a mass organization of the working class and indicated the road for the trade union to follow in every period of the developing revolution and at its each stage.

He stressed that the President is the benevolent father of the people and the sun of the nation as he put forward the Korean workers as masters of the revolution and eldest sons of the country and made them enjoy a worthy life.

Officials and workers of various units associated with the leadership exploits of the President and Kim Jong Il took the floor to speak of their revolutionary careers.

They sang "May of Victory", "Our Unforgettable Leader", etc.
