Figures of the costumes trace back to the ancient times.

In the period from the ancient times to the middle ages, the figure of Korean costumes became diverse, including geometry, nature, plant, animal and letter patterns.

Plant figures were most popular among them.

Prominence was given to their patterns in harmony with ground color.

The plant figures are considered a national heritage.
