Pyongyang, April 10 (KCNA) -- Seminars were held in Sankt-Peterburg of Russia and Bangkok of Thailand on March 31 and April 2. They were to mark the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung, the 19th anniversary of general secretary Kim Jong Il's election as chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and the 80th anniversary of the heroic Korean People's Army. Mikhail Panchenko, general secretary of the International Alliance of Societies for the Study of the Juche Idea and Songun Policy in East European and Central Asian Regions, made a report titled "Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung's 100th birth anniversary is a holiday of progressive humankind". He lauded Kim Il Sung for developing the DPRK into a socialist power independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence. Vadim Kudimin, chairman of the Russian Society for Promoting the Study and Dissemination of Comrade Kim Il Sung's Works, noted President Kim Il Sung scientifically clarified the theory of the issue of carrying forward revolution through generations. This is one of the feats performed by the President, he said. As the issue of carrying forward the cause of the revolution has been successfully solved in the DPRK, a steady continuity is being given to the cause of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, he added. Songchit Pullarp, chairman of the Organization for the Study of the Juche Idea of Thailand, said the President is a prominent leader not only of the Korean people but of the world people. "Studying for nearly 20 years the books on socialism and communism authored by famous thinkers and theoreticians, I was convinced that the Juche idea founded by the President is, indeed, the great idea most correctly reflecting the view of the popular masses," he said. "I became to know better about the validity and vitality of the Juche idea by witnessing great successes the DPRK registered in the socialist construction." |
