The paper carried articles titled "General secretary Kim Jong Il and the Korean People's Army" and "Invincible might of the Korean People's Army would be unthinkable apart from leader Kim Jong Il". The articles said:

Kim Jong Il put forward the Korean People's Army (KPA) as the pillar of the self-defensive armed forces and made ceaseless inspections of KPA units.

He paid primary attention to increasing the political and ideological might of the KPA at all times and made sure that the education of soldiers in ideological awareness was strengthened so that they could have a strong will to defend the country, people and socialism at the risk of their lives.

He saw to it that the soldiers rounded off preparations to fight a modern war and that the defence industry was developed preferentially so that the KPA could be armed with modern and strong offensive and defensive means as well as a reliable war deterrent.

He also made sure that the KPA soldiers made a breakthrough in socialist construction.

A thriving nation is sure to emerge in socialist Korea as KPA makes breakthrough in building it and all the people are waging heroic struggle inspired by them.
