51m in length and 16.6m in height, the mosaics depict the peerlessly great men blessing Songun Korea with a rosy future, with magnolias in the background.

At the bottoms there are letters reading "The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung will always be with us" and "The great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il will always be with us".

The erection of these mosaics for the first time in the history of the country helped the desire of the army and people of the DPRK to glorify the undying feats of the great persons born of Mt. Paektu for all ages to be realized.

The surrounding areas of the mosaics have been spruced up.

A ceremony of unveiling the mosaics took place on Monday.

Present there were Premier Choe Yong Rim, Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Mun Kyong Dok, secretary of the Central Committee of Workers' Party of Korea who is chief secretary of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK, and people from all walks of life, more than 60 000 in all.

Placed before the mosaics were floral baskets in the name of party and power bodies, working people's organizations, industrial establishments, co-op farms, schools, etc. in the city.

The participants paid tribute to Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

Mun Kyong Dok said the mosaics of smiling Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il erected in Pyongyang before any other place were a great honor, pride and the greatest fortune of the citizens.

This auspicious event could take place thanks to the wise leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un, who opened a new chapter in accomplishing the cause of perpetuating the memory of the leaders with noble loyalty and moral obligation, Mun added.

He called on the people to give a steady continuity to the history of perpetuating the memory of the leaders with a firm conviction that Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il will always be with them.
