Kim Jong Un Visits State Industrial Art Exhibition

Pyongyang, April 10 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the Workers' Party of Korea and the people of the DPRK, went round the venue of the State Industrial Art Exhibition now under way at the State Industrial Art Centre to mark the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung. The newly-built State Industrial Art Centre has rooms for creation and offices where all departments of the Korean Industrial Art Studio, the Korean Industrial Art Information Exchange Agency and the Central Industrial Art Guidance Bureau can work. The State Industrial Art Exhibition is due to open with splendor at the State Industrial Art Centre to mark the centenary of the birth of Kim Il Sung under the sponsorship of the Central Industrial Art Guidance Bureau and the Central Committee of the Artists Union of Korea. He went round various places of the venue of the exhibition for hours prior to its inaugural ceremony. He was briefed on the construction of the State Industrial Art Centre. He highly praised the soldier-builders for having successfully built a modern creating center and extended thanks to them. At the ground floor of the exhibition hall he saw with keen attention more than 1 700 designs and data of various kinds created in the field of industrial art under the direct guidance of the three commanders of Mt. Paektu up to this date from the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle. He dropped in at the first floor of the exhibition hall where he saw one by one at least 1 000 designs and products of various kinds created by the Korean Industrial Art Studio, industrial art studios in each province, industrial art creation units of ministries and national institutions and teachers and students in the field of education including Pyongyang University of Fine Art and industrial art amateurs. He gave precious instructions for developing the nation's industrial art as required by the new century. He said that drawing trademarks to be vivid and truthful like caricatures would be worth watching, attract people's eyes and arouse their curiosity about products. It is necessary to successfully conduct publicity work about industrial art and positively promote it so that people may have proper understanding of it and show deep interest in it, he said. He underscored the need to widely introduce the excellent industrial art of the country through interviews, visits and exchanges with other countries as there appeared the comprehensive State Industrial Art Centre. He expressed hope that the industrial art creators and amateurs would produce better and more successful designs and products in the future. He was accompanied by Ri Jae Il and Pak Pong Ju, first vice department directors of the Central Committee of the WPK. |
