Foreigners Visit Mangyongdae

Pyongyang, April 11 (KCNA) -- The delegations and delegates of various countries and regions and international bodies taking part in the international festival to mark the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung visited Mangyongdae on Wednesday. The guests placed a floral basket in the name of all the participants before the old home of the President in deep reverence for him. They went round the relics, being briefed on the glorious and revolutionary history of Kim Il Sung and the members of patriotic and revolutionary Mangyongdae family. Then they planted trees around the old home in the name of the international preparatory committee for marking the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung and regional preparatory committees. Wu Donghe, chairman of China-Korea Friendship Association, who is heading the delegation of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the China-Korea Friendship Association, said that the President was not only the great leader of the Korean people but also the close friend of the Chinese people. Kosima Weber Liu, executive director of the Environmental Education Media Project, noted that through the visit he came to know more about the revolutionary history of the President. Socorro Gomes, president of the World Peace Council, wrote in the visitor's book that the President defeated two strong imperialisms and led socialist construction to victory. He paid his respects to him, he wrote. |
