Present at the opening ceremony were officials of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television of China, members of the visiting Korean film delegation and staff members of the DPRK embassy in Beijing.

Speeches were made at the ceremony.

The vice director of the Film Management Bureau of the administration said that the Sino-DPRK friendly relations have been steadily boosted and cooperation promoted substantially in various fields thanks to the deep attention and energetic activities of the top leaders of the two countries.

Great achievements have been made in exchange and cooperation in the movie field, the vice director said, expressing belief that the current film week will contribute to helping the Chinese people have better understanding of the DPRK and consolidating the friendship between the two peoples.

Then Korean feature film "On Blue Carpet" was shown.

Other Korean films including "A Broad Bellflower", "Wheel of Happiness", "Family Blooming in Songs" and "Oh, Youth" will be shown during the film week.
