A secretary of the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK, Myong Son Yong, told KCNA:

The WPK is an ever-victorious party, which was founded by President Kim Il Sung and developed by Kim Jong Il. Since its birth, the Party has creditably guided the army and the people with no mistake in its lines.

With Kim Jong Il held in high esteem as the eternal general secretary, the WPK can further glorify its dignity as the party of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

A secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Jo Min Je, said:

It is the steadfast will of the Korean people to hold Kim Jong Il in high esteem as the eternal WPK general secretary and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche.

He successfully realized the cause of perpetuating the memory of the President, thus giving steady continuity to Kim Il Sung's history.

In particular, he developed the WPK into the great party leading the building of Korean-style socialism to victory under the Songun (military-first) politics.

Servicepersons and civilians will convey, through generations, the undying feats he performed by laying a sure guarantee for the accomplishment of the cause of Juche and the building of a thriving nation.

Kwak Song Su, secretary of the Party Committee of the Pyongyang Rubber Factory, evinced the determination to glorify Kim Jong Il's noble life, stressing that the title of WPK general secretary can be attached only to him.
