An officer of the Korean People's Army, Jo Chol Hyok, told KCNA:

I extend the highest glory and heartfelt congratulations to Kim Jong Un in reflection of the deep reverence of all the servicepersons for him.

The elections marked a milestone in the history of the Korean revolution.

Kim Jong Un is carrying forward the Songun (military-first) revolution guided by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il. His inspection tours of KPA units have left deep impressions on the servicepersons.

As he is wisely leading the army and the people towards independence, Songun and socialism, we are convinced of victory as ever.

U Myong Guk, a war veteran living in Sariwon City, North Hwanghae Province, said:

"I am very happy to hear the news that Kim Jong Un was elected to the top post of the country. Now I feel like dancing all night."

Ri Song Hui, a student at Kim Il Sung University, said she would remain intensely loyal to Kim Jong Un's leadership."
