Citizens thronged the bank of the river close to the Tower of the Juche Idea and nearby streets.

Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, appeared in the reviewing stand.

Kim Ki Nam, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the C.C., the WPK, made a speech.

When the evening of fireworks began, fireworks were displayed from the Tower of the Juche Idea amid the playing of the revolutionary paean "Song of General Kim Il Sung", shining the nocturnal sky over Pyongyang.

The atmosphere of the evening gained momentum with kaleidoscopic fireworks of various colors decorating the sky.

All the spectators recollected with deep emotion the great revolutionary career and undying feats of Kim Il Sung, the most distinguished great man produced by mankind.

At the end of the event they broke into cheers of "Hurrah!"

Kim Jong Un waved back to the enthusiastically cheering crowds.

Accompanying him were senior party, army and state officials, delegates to the celebrations of the centenary of the birth of the President, officials of party, armed forces and power bodies, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, servicepersons of the KPA and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, officials in the fields of science, education, literature and arts, public health and media, heroes, persons of merits, congratulatory groups of overseas Koreans including the group of Koreans in Japan, overseas Koreans, the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front, diplomatic envoys of different countries and representatives of international bodies here and foreign guests taking part in the World Congress on the Juche Idea, the international festival for celebrating the centenary of the birth of the President and the 28th April Spring Friendship Art Festival.

Similar evenings of fireworks took place in all provinces on the same day.
