The band, consisting of female singers and players, greeted its 80th birthday in February last. This troupe, well known at home and abroad, has become a pride of the Cuban people. Georgia Alexandra Aguirre Gonzalez, head of the band, told KCNA: "We are glad to display part of Cuba's arts before kind people of the DPRK at this April Spring Friendship Art Festival celebrating the Day of the Sun (April 15). The festival is big in scale and very significant. I hope we would take part in the future festival, too, which offers an opportunity to get a glimpse of different nations' cultures and promote friendship and solidarity among peoples." |
