Starting her career as an actress in 1981, she won the top prize in local concours in 1990 and was awarded the title of Merited Artiste of Russia in 1995.

She gave performance at the 5th April Spring Friendship Art Festival in the presence of President Kim Il Sung. In 2010 she attended as a singer the performance given by Russia's Orchestra of the 21st Century in the presence of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

She was honored with a watch bearing the august name of Kim Il Sung as a gift.

She told KCNA:

"The watch is treasured as an heirloom in my family. It is my high pride to have received this gift from the great person whom the world's people are revering. When I was presented with the gift, I was a girl.

My yearning for Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il grew deeper when I visited Kim Il Sung's old home in Mangyongdae and their statues some days ago.

It is an honor for me to take part in this festival held in celebration of Kim Il Sung's 100th birth anniversary."
