The letter said:

We extend heartiest congratulations to respected Your Excellency on your election as first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK.

During the festival, we celebrated grandly, together with Korean people, the centenary of the birth of great President Kim Il Sung, eternal sun of the Korean people and progressive mankind and, through our performance, exchanged successes and experience gained by artistes from various countries of the world in developing national culture and further deepened mutual friendship.

In the future, too, we will continue to participate sincerely in the April Spring Friendship Art Festival, which is held in the noble idea of independence, friendship and peace and make an active contribution to decorating the festival stage more brilliantly.
