Pyongyang, April 20 (KCNA) -- Chong Ah Kow, president of the Malaysia Harmonica Lovers Association (MHLA), drew popularity at the 28th April Spring Friendship Art Festival held in Pyongyang. A prize winner at the 2nd World Harmonica Concours held in Germany, he has superintended various kinds of art festivals in Malaysia. Called "King of Harmonica" in Malaysia, he is now active as the chairman of the Organizing Committee for Southeast Asian Harmonica Festival. He gave his performance in honor of President Kim Il Sung at the 10th April Spring Friendship Art Festival, and had a photo session with him. At the current festival, Chong Ah Kow played a solo with Malaysian folk songs, by skillfully blowing five harmonicas. The playing of "Song of General Kim Il Sung" by the My Harmonica World Music Band headed by him drew big applauds from the audience. Chong Ah Kow told KCNA: I have brought a harmonica with me as a gift to the dear respected Kim Jong Un. It is my high honor to have played the song "Nostalgia" composed by Kim Il Sung. I hope Kim Jong Un would have a rest even for a while, enjoying the playing of harmonica. Chong Ah Kow, who is also the chairman of Malaysia's preparatory committee for celebrating the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung, was awarded DPRK Friendship Medal on this occasion. |
