Pyongyang, April 21 (KCNA) -- The U.S. and the West's pressure on Iran's peaceful nuclear program is rendering the situation in the Mideast region extremely tense. The U.S. recently took a measure to freeze assets of financial organizations of Iran including Iran Central Bank in the U.S. The EU adopted a decision to ban Iran's use of international remittance network, toeing the U.S. line. This has made 116 members including relevant officials of the Iranian government and 442 enterprises and organizations including Iran Central Bank unable to use the international remittance network in EU countries. The Iranian government stopped oil export to six EU countries in protest against the sanctions and pressure, warning that if oil export of the country is blocked, it would block up Hormuz Strait. In fact, Iran successfully conducted long-range missile test launch through various military drills in Hormuz Strait and demonstrated the will to build a new naval base near the strait to cope with military attack by the U.S. and the West. The U.S. and the West's reckless sanctions and pressure against Iran drew strong protest and denunciation of the international community. Russian Prime Minister Putin expressed his opposition to the reckless military attack on Iran, calling upon the international community to recognize Iran's right of peaceful nuclear development and solving its nuclear issue in a peaceful way. Premier of the State Council of China Wen Jiabao said that the military attack on Iran will wreak greater havoc with the Mideast and the rest of the world. Prime Minister of Jordan Awn Khasawneh said that this will push backward the development of the region for decades. Sheikh Sabah Al Khalid Al Hamad Al Sabah, deputy prime minister and foreign minister of Kuwait, said that Kuwait will not offer its sky, land and sea as a base of attack on Iran, adding that Iran's nuclear issue should be solved through dialogue, not by other means. The Armenian foreign minister expressed the country's stand against the military attack on Iran. |
