The statement said that the joint conference of representatives of political parties and public organizations in north and south of Korea in Pyongyang in April 1948, 64 years ago, was a nationwide gathering to frustrate the two Koreas scheme of the U.S. and Syngman Rhee.

The statement called for holding higher the banner of "By Korean nation itself", banner of independence against imperialism in the spirit of the joint conference in line with the will and desire of the entire nation for building a reunified independent and sovereign state.

It called upon all the south Korean people to turn out in the great dynamic advance for independent reunification holding aloft the banner of the great national unity.
