The quartet began to be known to the local people in Juche 84 (1995). It is characterized by the harmonization of vocal and guitar ensembles.

It made its debut at the 14th World Festival of Youth and Students held in Cuba in 1997. It also enjoyed acclamation in China, Russia, Spain and Italy.

Noted professors at the Italian Guitarists Association admired the quartet as a unique one hardly to be found in European countries.

The song "Glory to Kim Jong Il" the quartet presented with the chorus of the female musicians Anakaona of Cuba was highly acclaimed at the grand performance for celebrating the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung "We Will Live Forever, Holding Leader in High Esteem".
