Korean Writers, Artistes in Japan Mark 100th Birth of Kim Il Sung

Pyongyang, April 24 (KCNA) -- Writers and artistes of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) met at the Korean Press House in Tokyo on April 21 to mark the 100th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. Present at the meeting were Pae Ik Ju, vice-chairman of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon and chairman of the National Rights Committee; Kim Jong Su, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Korean Writers and Artistes in Japan; officials of the union in Kanto region, members of the Kumgangsan Opera Troupe and Tokyo Korean Song and Dance Ensemble and other Korean writers and artistes. The participants laid a floral basket before the portrait of smiling Generalissimo Kim Il Sung. A video "The leader and Koreans in Japan" was shown at the meeting. Then speeches were made by participants on the loving care shown by the great men of Mt. Paektu for the Korean writers and artistes in Japan. The speakers said with deep emotion that Kim Il Sung led them with profound care. Leader Kim Jong Il who was identical to Kim Il Sung helped the writers and artistes of Chongryon grow up to be Juche-oriented overseas Korean writers and artistes, they said. They pledged to uphold the dear respected Kim Jong Un with loyalty just as they trusted and followed Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il like Heaven. The participants heard a lyric "Hymn" praising Kim Il Sung and sang songs including "If I had wishes" reflecting their pledge to hold Kim Jong Un in high esteem. They expressed their will to provide a springboard for ushering in a new heyday of Chongryon without fail to remain loyal to Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il forever. |
