The 80 year-long history covered by the KPA is brilliantly shining as annals of victory and glory in which it achieved the national independence, honorably defended the sovereignty of the country and strikingly demonstrated the might of Songun Korea and the dignity of the nation before the world despite all storms of history under the leadership of the commanders of Mt. Paektu, the message said.

President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il trained the KPA into a-match-for-a hundred strong revolutionary army, put all the people under arms, turned the whole country into a fortress and thus set a model of national defence for self-reliance, it noted.

It praised Kim Jong Un for greatly contributing to strengthening the political and military might of the KPA and increasing the defence capabilities for self-reliance, while accompanying Kim Jong Il in his journey of Songun from long ago.
