National meeting, book and photo exhibition and art performance took place in Cuba on April 13, remembrance meetings by the Organization of Solidarity of the Peoples of Africa, Asia and Latin America and in Cambodia and Indonesia, remembrance meeting, photo exhibition and film show in Laos on April 11 and 12.

On display in the venues were works of Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, photos of their immortal feats and books and photos of the Korean people's drive for building a thriving socialist nation.

Participants in the film show watched Korean film "The Korean People's Army, Steel-strong Ranks".

Juan Vela Valdes, chairman of the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification, said that the shining revolutionary career and exploits of Kim Il Sung serve as an example to be followed by the new generation of Cuba.

Under his wise leadership the Korean people displayed popular heroism in the revolutionary wars fought to defeat Japanese and U.S. imperialisms, he added.

The secretary-general of the Organization of Solidarity of the Peoples of Africa, Asia and Latin America said as Kim Il Sung rose as the sun, it was possible for Korea to free itself from the colonial yoke, emerge an independent and sovereign state, humble the arrogance of the U.S. imperialism and firmly protect its sovereignty.

The president of the Khmer Democratic Party of Cambodia said Kim Il Sung was the man whom he revered most deeply, recollecting the efforts made by him to invariably support and encourage the Cambodian people in their struggle to build a new society.
