The meeting of representatives of the north, the south and overseas sides of Pomminryon was held in Pyongyang on April 25.

Present there from the North Headquarters of Pomminryon was its Chairman Choe Jin Su, from the South Headquarters of Pomminryon its Acting-chairman Ro Su Hui and from Overseas Headquarters of Pomminryon its Chairman Rim Min Sik.

The meeting held against the background of the extremely complicated and tense situation at home and abroad was unanimous in stressing that the only way of achieving peace and independent reunification of the country is to firmly preserve and implement the historic June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.

Pomminryon expressed its firm will to take the lead in implementing the north-south joint declaration, boost the solidarity among the north, the south and overseas sides and decisively increase Pomminryon through its initiative and positive activities for independent reunification.

It also underscored the need to boost solidarity with people from all walks life at home and abroad including the All-Korean Committee for Implementation of June 15 Joint Declaration, put strong spurs to the nation-wide movement for implementing the declarations, judge the anti-reunification conservative forces at any cost this year by dint of unity and ensure that the trend of the June 15 era be given continuity.

It also stressed the need to remove all kinds of obstacles lying in the way of national reconciliation and unity including the "Security Law" and "May 24 steps", called on the south side to struggle to get the unreasonably arrested pro-reunification persons released and conduct dynamic actions to have the freedom of discussion on reunification and activities for it guaranteed.

The representatives of the north and overseas sides reiterated their firm stand to fully support and encourage the South Headquarters taking the lead in the actions to boldly shatter the anti-reunification forces' vicious moves against the South Headquarters and achieve the independence, peace and great unity of the nation.

The meeting vehemently denounced the Lee Myung Bak conservative forces for their vicious provocative acts of seriously hurting the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK and its social system and pushing the situation to the brink of a war and called upon all the compatriots at home and abroad to turn out as one in the nation-wide struggle against them.

The representatives of the north, the south and overseas sides expressed the strong will and determination of Pomminryon to play a pioneer role in weathering the prevailing grave situation, protecting the security of the compatriots and making a decisive breakthrough in the efforts for independent reunification.
