DPRK SPA Hosts Reception for Lao Delegation

Pyongyang, May 3 (KCNA) -- The Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK hosted a reception for the visiting delegation of the National Assembly of the People's Democratic Republic of Laos at the Mansudae Assembly Hall Thursday. Present there on invitation were members of the Lao National Assembly delegation headed by President Pany Yathortou, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP), and Ambassador Kiettisak Keobanhdith and staff members of the Lao embassy here. Present there were Chairman of the DPRK SPA Choe Thae Bok and its Vice Chairwoman Hong Son Ok, Chairman of DPRK-Laos Friendship Parliamentary Group Song Ja Rip and officials concerned. Choe Thae Bok in his speech said the delegation's visit to the DPRK would offer an important occasion for furthering the friendly relations between the two countries provided by President Kim Il Sung and Kaysone Phomvihane. He said the Lao people are making big efforts to build a people's democratic system suited to the specific conditions of their country under the guidance of the LPRP. The two countries have closely supported and co-operated with each other in their common cause to defend the banner of independence, banner of socialism, he noted. Pany Yathortou said that the friendly relations between the two countries provided by President Kaysone Phomvihane and President Kim Il Sung is growing strong day by day. Visiting different places, we witnessed the achievements made by the Korean people and the might of the DPRK's armed forces under the wise leadership of Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the Korean people, she noted. She wished the Korean people greater successes in defending the country and accelerating economic construction under the leadership of Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, true to the ideas and cause of the leaders. |
