Accompanying him were senior officials of the party and army Choe Ryong Hae, Ri Yong Ho, Jang Song Thaek, Hyon Chol Hae, Pak To Chun, Son Chol Ju, Pak Jae Gyong, Ri Jae Il, Kim Myong Guk and Hwang Pyong So. After receiving a salute, he looked round the room devoted to the education of servicepersons through revolutionary relics and the room devoted to the history.

After seeing historical data, he said with deep emotion that the air force of the heroic KPA was born and could grow to be invincible and matchless ranks thanks to the outstanding military thoughts and wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

The air force of the KPA has glorious today as the President organized the flying corps of new Korea right after the liberation, he noted, taking a measure for setting November 29 as the Day of Air Men to commemorate the day of the founding of the flying corps forever.

Learning that there were among the participants in the Vietnam War hero pilots who died in the motherland after returning home, he saw to it that their bodies were buried at the cemetery of fallen heroes of the KPA.

Going round the command post and operation study rooms then, he learned in detail about the unit's performance of duty and combat tasks.

He highly estimated the achievements made by the commanding officers and service personnel of the Air and Anti-air Force Command, expressing great satisfaction over the fact that they are defending the sky of the country as firm as an iron wall by firmly arming themselves with the WPK's Juche-based war methods and acquiring high operational command ability and combat capability to fight a modern war.

After watching the service personnel in tears of emotion after writing with care the letters "Comrade Supreme Commander, we've longed to see you, indeed" on the display recording circumstances at the command post, he called them close to him.

He warmly hugged the service personnel jumping for joy after rushing, calling "Comrade Supreme Commander!" in a choked tone. He had a photo taken with them.

Making the rounds of each room of the operation study room for a good chunk of time, he praised the command for successfully building the rooms in such a manner as to deeply study and thoroughly apply the WPK's Juche-based military strategic and tactical ideas and war methods.

The air force has a very important role to play in firmly defending the socialist country from the encroachment of the enemy, he said, setting forth the important tasks which would serve as guidelines for bolstering up the air and anti-air forces of the country.

He went round the servicepersons' hall, servicepersons' health complex, mess hall of the command and other entertainment and educational facilities and supply service facilities.

Saying that he was pleased with everything and there is nothing defective, he gave the unit the highest appreciation that it is the most exemplary one in the whole army.

Watching cooks standing in tears of emotion, he appreciated their efforts, kindly called them and had a photo taken with them, too.

He looked at the combat and technical apparatuses contrived and developed by the unit itself.

After being briefed in detail on the performance and introduction of combat and technical apparatuses, he said that this good job can be done only by the service personnel who are using their brains to round off the combat preparations and working heart and soul for them. He asked commanding officers to convey his words that he highly estimated the service personnel who took part in their research and development.

He once again highly appreciated the enterprising work style of the officers of the unit with which they are making uninterrupted innovations and making leap forward while planning and conducting all the military and political work on a high level true to the WPK's idea of pushing back the frontiers of latest science and technology.

He had a photo session with the service personnel of the unit, expressing expectation and conviction that they would firmly defend with arms the socialist country advancing for final victory, keeping themselves in a posture fully ready to go into action.
