The paper Pracheachon carried an article titled "80 years of victory and glory" with a photo of leader Kim Jong Il.

The Korean People's Revolutionary Army, founded by President Kim Il Sung, defeated Japanese imperialism and liberated Korea through hard-fought struggle, the article said, and continued:

The KPA, which had grown to be the regular armed forces under the leadership of the President, won a brilliant victory in the Fatherland Liberation War to repel the invasion by the U.S. imperialists.

The KPA is reliably defending the sovereignty and dignity of the country while shattering the U.S. ceaseless military provocation moves in every way.

AKP introduced in detail the Songun revolutionary leadership feats of Chairman of the National Defence Commission Kim Jong Il, saying that the DPRK could win victory after victory in the continued political and military confrontation with the hostile forces because he firmly consolidated the self-defensive capabilities.

Apsara TV and Radio praised him as a peerlessly elder statesman and Songun brilliant commander.

State Radio and F.M. 90.5 Radio reported about feats Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il performed in founding and strengthening the KPA, adding that the history of victory and glory of the KPA will continue along with prospering socialist Korea.
