According to KBS, a woman whose life was threatened informed police of the threat over phone but they failed to respond to it in time. Finally she was abducted and killed by a criminal.

This time police was informed by a man that his wife appeared to be abducted, but they failed to properly respond to the call again, causing a murder to take place, KBS added.

Recalling that such type policemen are apt to take bribes, the broadcasting service said more than ten policemen were punished on charges of informing a gay quarters owner of police actions in advance and receiving money in return for providing information.

People are horror-stricken, uneasy about public security, it noted.
