DPRK Taekwon-Do Players Prove Successful at International Championships

Pyongyang, May 5 (KCNA) -- DPRK Taekwon-Doists proved successful at the 6th Asian Taekwon-Do Championships. The championships held in Tajikistan from April 27 to 29 brought together excellent players from 18 countries and regions including the DPRK. DPRK players bagged 22 gold medals, 7 silver ones and 7 bronze ones by fully demonstrating high technique. They placed first in the team standing. They took the first place in the senior women's team standing, in men and women's team pattern competitions, in the women's team sparring match, in the women's team special technique competition and in the women's team demonstration competition. The following are the DPRK players who won the titles: - the senior men's pattern individual C class and the sparring match in over 85kg category: Ri Hyon - the men's pattern individual D class and the sparring match in the 57kg category: Ri Hang Song and Kim Ryong Hae - the women's pattern individual B class and the sparring match in the 63kg category: Choe Un Mi - the women's pattern individual C class and the sparring match in the 57kg category: Ri Hyang Mi - the women's individual special technique match and the sparring match in 45kg category: Hwang Hyang Mi - the women's individual sparring matches in 51 and 75 and in over 75kg categories: Yu Jong, O Kum Ju, Choe Su Ryon. - the juvenile women's B class pattern individual, the sparring match in the 46kg category and the special technique match: Ri Un Jong - the men's B class pattern individual: Kim Chol Hak. Ri Hyon, Ri Hyang Mi and Ri Un Jong won the top technical prize. They flew back on May 5. |
