The appeal denounced the Lee Myung Bak government for committing all sorts of vicious acts against the DPRK by using every opportunity including the demise of Chairman of the National Defence Commission Kim Jong Il and the celebrations for the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung. They amounted to grave provocations that can lead to a war, not just bedeviling the north-south relations.

To cope with the provocations, the north served a serious warning to the Lee "government" and ultra-right conservative media, the appeal noted, and went on:

Nevertheless, Lee let loose such reckless remarks as "punishment" and "overthrow of social system", creating the atmosphere of a war.

Lee is, indeed, a traitor who committed unpardonable crimes against the country and nation. Unless such traitor is punished, it would be impossible to bring about national reunification and prosperity.

The only way to foil such heinous moves for confrontation with fellow countrymen and restore the north-south relations is to implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.

The appeal called on all the Koreans at home and abroad to hold aloft the banner of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, punish the Lee "government" and the ultra-right group of conservatives hell-bent on confrontation with fellow countrymen and vigorously advance towards national reunification and prosperity.
