It was accompanied by Kim Jin Bom, vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Korea-China Friendship Society who is vice-chairman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, and Councilor Li Qingjiang of the Chinese embassy in Pyongyang.

A wreath in the name of the China Association for International Friendly Contact was placed before the tower.

The participants paid silent tribute to the fallen fighters of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) before looking round the tower.
