S. Korean Authorities Accused of Tightening Military Alliance with Japan
Pyongyang, May 12 (KCNA) -- 30 odd civic and social organizations including the south Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, the Association for Supporting Prisoners of Conscience of the Family Movement for Realizing Democracy and the People for Achieving Peace and Reunification Saturday held a press conference outside the building of the Ministry of Defense to denounce the war maniacs for working hard to boost military alliance with Japan.

The organizations in their press release accused the authorities of contemplating concluding the General Security of Military Information Agreement (GSOMIA) and an Acquisition and Cross-Servicing Agreement with Japan while mulling staging joint military drills with the U.S. and Japan.

The tightening of the military alliance with Japan is a move diametrically running counter to peace on the Korean Peninsula and national reunification and a sycophancy and treachery as it helps the U.S. realize its wild ambition for world domination and Japan revive its militarism, the press release said, adding:

Japan is working hard to distort history and grab Tok Islets and justify its policy of aggression, far from making apology and reparation for its past crimes committed against the Korean people including the issue of comfort women for Imperial Japanese Army.

It strongly demanded the "government" authorities immediately stop their moves to tighten the military alliance with Japan in contravention of the desire and wishes of the nation.
