Okinawa Gov. Calls for Relocation of U.S. Base

| Pyongyang, May 12 (KCNA) -- The Okinawa governor Wednesday in a press interview once again called for relocating the U.S. air force base in Futenma outside of the prefecture unconditionally. Arguing that the U.S. military does not always have to obey Japanese law, he said, ''The people of the prefecture have suffered hardships alongside the bases for more than 40 years.'' If the same things happen elsewhere in the country, they would be dealt with differently, he said, calling for the revision of the bilateral agreement. |
