Stop to Conclusion of Military Agreements with Japan Called for in S. Korea

Pyongyang, May 14 (KCNA) -- The Confederation of Organizations for Anti-Japanese Independent Movement of south Korea and the People's Action for Renegotiations on Agreements between South Korea and Japan issued a joint statement on Friday in denunciation of the warlike forces' moves for concluding military agreements with Japan that is aimed to bring the danger of war to the Korean Peninsula.

Their attempt to conclude military agreements with Japan despite unanimous opposition of the people not only runs counter to the desire and wish of the nation for peace and reunification but invites the danger of war to the Korean Peninsula, the statement said.

Lee Myung Bak plans to tighten military alliance with the U.S. and Japan and actively back his group's return to power through the conclusion of military agreements with Japan, it noted.

The Lee Myung Bak bellicose forces would be well advised to know that they would never escape the severe punishment by history for their reckless acts of trying to plunge the Korean Peninsula into the crucible of a war, it warned.
