Pyongyang, May 14 (KCNA) -- A new TV series "Devote Yourself" has been broadcasted in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The 10-part series is based on activities of a party official of Kyongwon County, North Hamgyong Province, whom General Secretary Kim Jong Il highly praised for his devoted efforts for the wellbeing of his local people. Appointed as the chief secretary of the county party committee some 20 years ago, he began his work with discovery of the revolutionary sites and slogan-bearing trees throughout the county, by dint of workers concerned. The county succeeded in discovering revolutionary sites in Paksokgol, Yonbong and Ryonggye areas, as well as some 400 slogan-bearing trees and 200 pieces of relics. Meanwhile, he is also a frontrunner in carrying into practice the party's agricultural policy. He assigned his only daughter, a secondary school graduate, to a rural community for doing farming. His deed inspired the local people to follow the suit, leading to settlement of the shortage of farms' labor forces in the county. He actively helped acclimatize 10 kinds of high-yield strains of seeds to sharply boost the grain output. The county built a tree nursery covering tens of hectares, which cultivates more than 200 000 saplings a year. It also built more than 7 000 housing units, two power stations, a 20-hectare fish farm and a goat farm. All the achievements are believed to be attributable to the devoted efforts the chief secretary made for the improvement of the livelihood of the county dwellers. The series helps the people harden their determination to highly display Kim Jong Il style patriotism. |
